The product description seems to refer to a different book than this one, as it talks about a series of stories and this is just a single story.Given the cover and the reference to the "ghost lover" in the description, I expected this to be more erotic than it was. The author kept hinting at more erotic elements of the story, but none were included in the story. Instead, you get a pretty simple story of a woman who becomes a were-jaguar and fights a werewolf.
I felt as if the amount of detail in the story was way off. You get a detailed description of her leaving the airport and even the description of the car that picks her up. Then it skips around important details and rushes through key plot points (like when the ghost attempts to provide details about all the were-creatures on earth in a few lines). Why are the werewolves bad and the werecats good? Or all werewolves bad? You just don't know.
I think this story would benefit from a realignment of detail (less airport description, more details about the characters and plot) and a rethinking of the plot being driven forward by the appearance of a ghost who is able to tell the heroine everything and train her how to fight. It felt too artificially constructed and you can't really root for somebody who is basically a puppet of a ghost.

I was skimming through the free section on my kindle and found this book. Just...wow. I think this book was purposefully written poorly as a joke. The author goes into great detail on trivial happenings in the story (for example, the exact contents of the main character's purse or the fact that she takes a bathroom break during her spying session) but glosses over main plot points (like the quasi-lesbian conflict at work). I can't say I wasn't entertained reading this. It's just that I was entertained for the wrong reasons. Even though I gave it only one star, I highly recommend this short story because it's so bad. I think the author just decided one day that he'd write a book about a movie he'd like to watch. Good for him.

A brilliant short story, the eBook pans out on the kindle and ends bang on kindle location 666. Spooky ? no just very clever planning by the author, who is (by the way) a very good writer and good story teller,this book is very entertaining.
The book has an interesting start, cattish, Adriana finds herself on the steps of a pyramid in Guatemala, then she is attacked and almost killed by a Jaguar. But no ordinary cat this.
The victim Adriana seems to be (like most characters in American self published eBooks) to have some kind of mental demonic possession or as a psychiatrist would put it, plain bog standard schizophrenia.
Jessica. Is Adriana's pal and is victim of a coincidental mad dog attack in an alley, But no ordinary dog this, The alley is full of homeless people and none of them lifted a finger to help Jessica.
Is Adriana seeing things? she is attacked Guatemala she survives and back in Chicago she is contacted by a sprit, on her way to the after life.The Mayan myths the beliefs are then introduced into the story.
This is a very entertaining horror story, the bad guys are were wolves and the women were cats, not the cat you may have at home stretched out on the sofa. I thought this book was targeted at the young adult market at first but it's got a lot of unexpected aspects, that will give it appeal in the wider book market, its good, I liked it.
The Jaguar in Guatemala. The connections with a pyramid the curse aspect Pre Columbian expert Roger Franks translates "kawka,key may" and some other ancient words they mean Storm, death, jaguar, dog, soul,you will figure it out when you read the book.
The sprit world red in tooth and claw, this mysterious woman a shape shifter, cats and wolves. All this in a short story, brilliant I want to buy the others in the series because I like short stories like this.
Short stories, work on a train, plane on holiday or during coffee breaks, I will pay $3 for a short and $3 for a novel, I will pay $10 for an educational book. So there is a lesson there to all authors, why write a massive novel where the reader needs a white board and a note book to track all the characters and the plot? I guess you could say this book series is bite sized ... (sorry about that).
Write quality shorts, like this and you will have a least one customer. Me. and a few million others.

I got this as a free read. Short story, I thought it was well written. I enjoyed the story and I didn't lose interest. Just the right length. From the Product Description I thought this might be a couple of stories, but it is just one story. There are no love scenes except by reference.
